Surrounded by boreal forest and nestled at the confluence of the Athabasca and Clearwater rivers, Fort McMurray is the largest community in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) in northern Alberta. Wood Buffalo, one of North America’s largest municipalities, is made up of Fort McMurray and nine rural communities.
Golden Buffalo Centre will serve as a catalyst to transform much of the urban core of Fort McMurray, consistent with the future vision planned for the city.
Encompassing almost an entire city block at 131 Hardin Street, the site is bounded by Hardin Street to the west, Fraser Avenue to the north and an existing lane to the east.
